Matthew 7:15 – 20

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

False prophets are the ones who appear to be ministers of God, but they do not preach the truth. They have the appearance of being so righteous and God fearing, but their desires are to do damage to the flock of God by leading them to one of the wide paths of destruction.

You can only recognize them if you are familiar with the word of God, then you will see the true character of these individuals who are teaching the lies of Satan to their congregations.

When trees are producing good fruit, they do not produce bad fruit.

Those trees which are producing bad fruit are useless as fruit trees, they are only good for fueling the fire.

When you know God's word then you are prepared for the false teachers, you can recognize the messages which contradict the word of God.
