Revelation 22:18 - 21

18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

The direct application of this statement is if anyone adds to the prophecies of the book of Revelations then they will be in serious trouble with God. They will be held accountable with distorting God's prophecies which are given to John to relay to us.

In practical application it also applies to the entire book of God, because Peter writes in 1 Peter 4:11 that any man who is speaking about the matters which God has given instruction on, that man is to relay the message as the word or oracles of God is written, that applies to the entire word of God, the Bible.

Every part of the word of God is necessary so to omit any of it as being not needed is considered as heinous as distorting God's word. If we are guilty of omitting or making the instructions of God as trivial nuisances then we can expect to lose what ever heavenly reward we would have earned had we been faithful to God.

The one who has given all of these prophecies to the angel to relay to John, Christ says, his coming will be soon, It is something that every faithful servant of Christ is looking forward to, So as John says, Amen or so be it. The faithful have nothing to fear on the judgment day.

John writes that the unmerited favor of Christ be with all who read this book and is faithful to the word of Christ.
