Revelation 19:11 - 16

Christ on a White Horse

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND

LORD OF LORDS.

In the days of the Bible, the horse was used solely as a war animal, this horse symbolizes a war animal and because it is white, it about to engage in a war for purity or righteousness. Of course the one called “faithful and true” is Christ, His judgments are fair and accurate, and he is able and willing to make war against evil

This chapter again moves backward, from the judgment day to the work of the Reformation keeping in mind the entire vision was seen near the time of 100AD it was all prophesy at that time.

His eyes are like fire indicating they are bright and able to penetrate that which is evil and dark.

He wears many crowns indicating He is the King of kings, no other king has the authority of which He rules.

His name is one of which one does not understand what it means until you become a follower of Him and begin to understand the words which a follower must keep.

His robe is dipped in blood because He shed His blood for mankind's salvation. He had to die to have victory over death so the giving of His blood gave Him the opportunity to have the victory.

The name which can only be understood by his followers is given (John 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

This symbolically represents the war against the beast which has been defying the authority of Heaven for the entire period of the Dark Ages (1260 years)

The sharp sword is the sword of the spirit (Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12) Hebrews also tells us this sword is the word of God. It is the word of God which was freed from the clutches of the Roman-Catholic church-state and given to the people by the work of the Reformation. It is this word which enlightened the peoples of the kingdoms and broke them free from the servitude of the church-state. The wrath of God was fueled by His word being understood by the people who rebelled against the Roman-Catholics.

“King of kings and Lord of lords.” King means Christ has supreme authority, no one has more authority than Christ. Lord is one who governs the conduct of others, Christ is given these two titles because he overcome all who opposed Him. These titles were like the medals and ribbons given to soldiers to indicate the accomplishments they have reached.
