Matthew 15:29 – 31

29 Jesus departed from there, skirted the Sea of Galilee, and went up on the mountain and sat down there.

30 Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them.

31 So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

Jesus was teaching and working in an area about one mile wide and several miles long which bordered on the Sea of Galilee. He now moved to an area closer to the sea and went up onto a mountain where multitudes of his followers came to him.

Jesus had a great following because the news of His work had penetrated the entire countryside. So the multitudes brought everyone who had ailments, the ones who could not walk, the ones who could not see or talk. The ones who were crippled by injuries and many more, the ones who could not walk were laid at Jesus feet, and He healed them all.

Jesus showed His great abilities, he worked all kind of miracles. Jesus was not like the pretend miracle workers who select which people to heal. Jesus healed them all. And healed them immediately. They knew Jesus was no ordinary man, but knew His ability was from the God of Israel. Not some idol or the gods of the Gentiles. This was power from the real almighty God.

The main purpose of Jesus healing was so that people could believe that He was the Christ, the Messiah, the only Son of God. (John 20:30 - 31)[ And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.]
