Matthew 12:22 - 30

22 Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.

23 And all the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”

24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.

28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.

29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.

30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

This person who was brought to Jesus to heal was controlled by a demon, which is one of the followers of Satan. In this case it caused the man to be unable to see or to speak, Jesus healed him or cast out the demon. Immediately the man was able to see and to speak.

Many of the Jewish people knew the prophecy which said that a descendant of David would be a man of divine characteristics so they correctly concluded that Jesus was the One predicted of by the prophets.

There wasn't any way the Pharisees could deny the fact that Jesus had cast out the demon because so many people had witnessed the event, so they knew that Beelzebub(Satan) had supernatural powers, if they couldn't deny Jesus, had accomplished the feat then they would attempt to ruin His Godly name by ascribing His powers to be that of Satan and not of God.

Apparently the Pharisees had not verbalized their belief yet, but Jesus is able to read the minds of all, so it was no mean feat for Him to know what the Pharisees were thinking. He then attacked their accusation before they had made it.

For Satan to aid Jesus in casting out a demon meant he was both working for his dominion and working against it. If Jesus was one of his demons then he was working against his other demon by assisting Jesus in casting him out. Which would be a conflict of interest in the health of his dominion.

Jesus points this out, Satan is another name of Beelzebub, and he would want what was good for the other demons, and would not cooperate with Jesus or any other person in opposing their kingdoms well being.

Jesus is not admitting to the sons of the Pharisees having the ability to cast out demons, they did claim to.(Acts 19:13) But Jesus used their claim as another way to expose their inconsistency. They would not admit their children were working in cohorts with Satan, because that would be showing them the same disrespect they were trying to show Jesus.

But showing that His work was done by the Spirit of God, it proved He was the One bringing them the kingdom of God.

Jesus shows that He could not be working with Satan because if it is Satan's house that is being robbed, then Satan is the strong man and he has to be defeated by someone stronger than himself. If Jesus is working with Satan against Satan, How can Satan be stronger than Satan when he is Satan. Satan is not stronger than himself so it cannot be Satan's own powers which is able to overthrow him.

The last verse is the conclusion on this subject.

There is no neutrality between the kingdom of Christ and that of Satan's kingdom. One cannot be a loyal subject of both kingdoms, a worker either is for Christ or against Christ.
